The Snapchat Map And How To Use It For Local Business

The Snap Map is a great opportunity if you're a local business that has built up your Snapchat following over time

With the map you can take your Snap business account and make a Bitmoji for it, then you park it at your business on the map. Now your little snap guy is parked on the snap map at your local business and everybody who's friends with your local business in the area can see your Bitmoji parked there.

Essentially always giving you an additional layer of exposure with those who follow your business and your followers no matter what they're doing in your area and it provides a great reminder to them that you're there when they go to the map. In addition to the regular Snap platform.

On top of that, there is a feature where you can see heat signatures from people who are posting heavily in a specific area. With this feature combined with the Bitmoji character, you can start Snap Maps scavenger hunts.

With this idea, you can tell your customers that you will be doing a scavenger hunt this week or this month or whenever you decide to do it and get them excited to go out and essentially market for you while they have fun by gamifying the app.

The way you should set this up is to park some staff at different locations around your town probably within 5 miles of your business. The ideal places to set this up will be public places where you can have a little bit of fun, take selfies, have drinks, eat food etc.

Once you've decided where to park your staff you need to tell your customers to go to the map and find them based on where your Bitmoji character is and they have to take a Snapchat selfie with each one of your staff that they find on the map, then you have them share to Instagram and put a hashtag of your city name and business.

From this, you've gotten them to not only post on their Snapchat accounts and on the Snap map, which will showcase a large heat signature associated with your business and get curious people to check it out on the map, but you've also gotten them to share the content to their Instagram account. Building awareness in another platform.

This builds awareness and the sense of fun and excitement with your business to Snap and Instagram where it's much easier to showcase your brand to the public and to your community at large.

In addition to this, you can purchase a Snap Geofilter for each of the spots you park your staff at. This is especially easy with the self-service Geofilters now available! With these Geofilters, you're able to brand the location with your specific brand and brand name.

Doing these scavenger hunts can be an incredible way to gamify the app and to create excitement and awareness around your brand in your local community with your customers essentially showcasing the entire event to your local area and their networks.

Just remember to make this work well you need to have some incredible prizes to give them and the prizes should go to people who accumulate enough points from the hunt to get the prize.

An even better strategy is to organize your customers into teams and make them work together to do it. They'll hustle more and be significantly more committed with other people doing it right next to them and on the same team as them.

Go try this out and let me know how it goes and what you think of it. I hope this was helpful!
